Whole School Christmas Panto Trip

We love this time of year! We took the children to watch a fantastic performance of Aladdin at the Grand Theatre.

Ribby Hall - Wild Discovery

Pupils from Adventurers class had a great time at Ribby Hall Wild Discovery. The children learned all about animals and their habitats which backed up their classroom learning. They loved feeding the reindeer too. Pop over to the Adventurers' class page to look at photographs.

Small School Football, Garstang Academy

On Wednesday, we took a team of Year 3 and 4 pupils to play in a football tournament at Garstang Academy. The team played really well together, clearly enjoyed themselves and were a joy to watch. They won three games, drew one and lost by a goal to nil to the eventual winners. Izaac only conceded two goals in five matches; Skye and Oscar were solid in defence making many good tackles and interceptions: Zac, Oscar, Aerson and Orla were fantastic in midfield whilst Freddie scored some super goals! The best part again was how they represented school – with the teacher from Garstang praising St Mary’s at the end of the tournament.

Visit to StreetLife with our Harvest Donations

On Tuesday some of our Years 5 and 6 pupils delivered our Harvest donations to StreetLife in Blackpool and received a tour of the centre and had a discussion about what the centre did for those who were living on the streets in Blackpool. The centre manager was impressed by the quality of the questions that the children asked and the knowledge and understanding they showed through these questions.

School Council - Sponsored Obstacle Course

The Year 6 School Council organised a fantastic sponsored obstacle course with the help of Miss Bolton. The children laughed and cheered their way over, around and through the obstacles. There are a few photos below and videos have been added to the 'school highlights' menu.

Great Eccleston Show 2023

We are delighted that our school entry won first place at the agricultural show this weekend and our school wheel barrow entry won second place. It was a great display which really demonstrated the wide variety of learning opportunities open to our pupils and the high standard of work which they produce.

Ladyewell Pilgrimage

The children from Years 2-6 enjoyed our visit to Ladyewell yesterday. The children attended Mass at St Marys Fernyhalgh, they took part in a rosary walk to the Shrine and explored the Shrine. They also learnt about the rosary, relics of the Catholic faith and enjoyed a talk from the priest Father Augustine.
