Adventurers

                Welcome to Adventurers

We are Adventurers class from St. Mary’s Primary School in Great Eccleston. We are a growing school that has gone from two to three classes, we now have Explorers, Adventurers and Pioneers. We have lots of fun and adventures, last year we went on a residential to Robinwood and we stayed for three days it was amazing! Every Friday years 3-6 go swimming to Garstang, we can also take part in different clubs after school such as multi-skills, tennis and archery. We have a school council who do lots of different events like Christmas fairs, Easter egg bingo, sponsored obstacle courses, bake sales, pyjama days and movie nights. Every Wednesday we have music lessons where we play instruments and sing different songs. We love Christmas at St. Marys because we always go to a pantomime, this year we are going to watch A Christmas Carol and we can’t wait to eat ice cream in the break. We put on a play for our parents and we have a Christmas dinner with crackers and a party. We also enjoy making Christmas cards and delivering them around the village.

We asked our classmates what they love about St. Mary’s.

Oscar “I like learning how to play the guitar every Monday after school.”

Lyra “I enjoy going to breakfast and after school club and playing with the play-dough.”

Vienna “I love going swimming because we learn how to swim and we get to go all year round.”

Ebony “I really, really enjoyed going to Robinwood and my favourite thing was the trapeze.”

We think you would love our school as much as we do! If you want to come and look round our school please contact Mrs Armer.

All children are welcome.

Merry Christmas

Adventurers have had a fantastic autumn term. They have enjoyed learning all about the Ancient Egyptians, habitats, map skills and learning how to say Christmas words in French.

In English the children have explored the book Traction Man and written some wonderful extended descriptive sentences as well as news reports. When we return in the new year we will be finishing our English topic by planning and writing our own stories.

The children had a lot of fun on trips to Wild Discovery at Ribby Hall and to watch Aladdin at The Grand Theatre in Blackpool. Over the last two weeks they have shone in their wonderful Nativity The Three Kings. We were very proud of all of the children and loved watching them all shine.

This week the children have enjoyed meeting Father Christmas, eating a lovely Christmas dinner, playing games at their Christmas party and visiting the Christmas fair. A big thank you to all of the children for helping to create the games and set up for the fair and to all of the parents who attended. A lot of fun was had by all.

Please remember photos of what we are doing in Adventurers can be seen on the school Facebook page, Adventurers website page and children’s seesaw journals.

We would like to wish all of the children and their families a wonderful Christmas and look forward to seeing you all back in the new year and hearing all about your fantastic Christmas celebrations.

Thank you for all of your support this term.

Welcome back to the new school year.

Adventures have had a wonderful first few weeks in our new classroom. We are starting to get used to our new routines and enjoying new subjects. Over the next few weeks we will be focussing on becoming more independant with both daily tasks and work.

Mrs Hopkinson and myself are very proud of how the children have returned to school and the effort they are putting into everything they do. Great start to the year Adventuresā
