Adventurers

Welcome to Adventurers Class

Developing social and communication skills

Adventurers have being playing games to help them to develop their social and conversational skills including turn taking and engaging in conversations with peers. They have enjoyed landing on squares that gave them opportunities for role play and drama-based activities to practise real-life conversations and speaking with emotion.

Enjoying Science Investigations

Adventurers have been very excited about using magnets. They explored the uses of magnets, investigated materials to find out if they were magnetic or non-magnetic and investigated the distance a magnet can attract a paperclip. They used their findings to make further predictions.

Making Sandwiches

Adventurers class have been enjoying a DT day, they have tasted a selection of sandwiches and designed their own. They all made, ate and evaluated their own designs. Some of which were very interesting! Many of the children will also peel their first boiled egg.

Gestural drawings with charcoal

Adventurers class have been discovering how to make drawings that capture a sense of drama or performance using charcoal. Linking with their work on Stone Age they created cave drawing, adding life to their drawings using light.

Multi Skills Festival

This week some of the children from Adventurers class attended a multi skills festival. They enjoyed taking part in different activities whilst dancing along to a variety of songs. The children never stopped smiling and laughing as they showed their basketball and football skills, jumped over hurdles, excelled at speed bounce and worked as a team to stop a balloon from hitting the floor and collect as many cones as possibly. We are very proud of the children's determination and confidence.

Adventurers Class Assembly

This week the children preformed their class assembly based on The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig, for all of the pupils, staff and their family members. They enjoying acting, narrating, singing and even playing the glockenspiels. The children worked very hard to plan and learn their lines and had great fun rehearsing. We are very proud of all of the children and hope they are proud of their achievements. We saw all of the children grow in confidence with big smiles of their faces.

A big thank you to all of the families that were able to come and watch our assembly, we are very grateful for your amazing comments.

Welcome back to the new school year.

This half term the children will be thinking a lot about sentence structure including grammar and punctuation. We will also be focussing on working independently. In Maths, we are starting with place value and moving onto addition and subtraction. In Science ,we will be exploring rocks and in Geography the United Kingdom. Art may be a bit messy as we experiment with charcoal. The children are enjoying an introduction to French and have been exploring in PSHE. In RE the children have been learning all about Creation with Mrs Birch. The children will be looking at the internet in computing and musical structures in Music.

We will be exploring poetry and writing Autumn poetry at the end of the half term. We look forward to families joining us in class for some Autumn activities.
